Research and Development at PHZ Schwyz

    PHZ carries out applied research and development. On the one hand, this means PHZ contributes to the formation of academic theory while, on the other hand, it supports various educational partners in the field of further developments in education based on their needs in real life.
    The main research unit at PHZ Schwyz is the Institute of Media and School Education (IMS). IMS puts its know-how in research and development at the disposal of various players in the field of education.

    Institute of Media and School Education (IMS)

    The Institute of Media and School Education (IMS) is a competent partner for public and private institutions who want to improve their pre-service and in-service training with the help of new media. IMS implements projects for schools, political decision makers, universities and companies. IMS develops customised solutions based on the latest scientific findings. Research and development also form a substantial part in the qualification of lecturers and students at PHZ. Theory and practice go hand in hand at IMS.

    Areas of research 

    IMS\'s activities are based on teaching and learning using different types of media in schools and other educational institutions. Further emphasis is put on children and adolescents growing up in an environment dominated by the media. Our main areas of expertise in a nutshell:
